I have been wanting a nice chalice for a while now, and have been spending all my money on my acans micros and blastos. Not sure if it has one of those CRAZY lps names so if it does please let me know thanks!

thanks so it is an echino, not a chalice i have troubles telling differences.

Chester, you and Justin are both correct. Chalice is a generic name (like "brain coral" for example). It can refer to species of Echinophyllia, Echinpora, Oxypora, Pectina, Leptoseris, Mycedium, and some others.

Yours is almost certainly Echinophyllia; E. aspera is a pretty reasonable guess too.

That is a VERY pretty coral. Nice mix of colors.

It's the LE Givemeapiecea Echinophyllia. Very stunning. Congrats on a great find.

haha, its actually rather large so after a while letting it grow out id like to frag it and see how they do.

I saw after I posted that you were looking for "hyped up" name, there is no name or gimick associated with the piece you have to my knowledge. That's not to say that people dont continuously try...
But will a fruity tooty name make it more cool? I dont think so :)

But if you insist, I dub thee "Death by Rasberries" :D

haha no I dont really care but its interesting sometimes to say "i have_____" haha. thanks for teh input even without a cool name i love the piece!
