I have a Kenya tree coral start.

It was open/ thriving for three weeks.

It has been closed for 4 days now.

The salt level is correct, as is lighting.

Any ideas/suggestions/

I'm a newbie.

Thank you.

Pretty much anything could cause it. How old is the tank? I'll assume for now that its cycled and there is no amonia, but i'd bet nitrates are your problem...check for those. And new flow could make them mad, but they'll get used to it.

when your softies are closing could be a sign that alk is out of whack too..

If everything else is OK, I would suspect that it's going to drop some "babies". Mine looks terrible before this happens.

But with out parms of your tank, it's just a wild guess.

Check your big five parameters:
ALK/Kh
S.G.
No3
po4
temp

If those are good.

has the tank got a grounding probe?
Did you just add another soft or leather coral?

try a water change, I do that and it perks up.
