This is the lower center of my tank, these zoas are actually green. or teal, not as blue as the camera always makes them.

Twisted, you need to work on your camera skils! I took those macro shots of my corals on a camera that cost far less than the one you bought!

:D :D :D

Anyways, good stuff, keep takign pictures and be sure to read your camera manual on using macro settings. The macro settings lets you take really closeup pics like I did on my cesp.

Whats the coral on the last picture in the very back. Looks green and roundish? Montipora or ?

See if you can get a better pic of that green centered cloves.

Mike

Read a manual? That's just silly!

Really though, just tore my backyard down about 8 inches and rebuilding it for a playground, so been way busy, took those pictures one night in my down time.
If I get a chance I will read up on the camera, but not sure when.

My distributor e-mailed me yesterday he may be getting in some dendros and some of the acanthestreas, and micromussas in the next couple weeks....so crossing my fingers!

Oh the green one you asked about Mike is just a bali slimer frag.

I figured out my macro today, so will post a few more pics in a couple hours when I have time to sit down and upload them.
It was kind of funny...you have to actually put it in digital macro mode....weird how these things work isn't it?

Good stuff! You don't need anything from me it seems like since your distributor and all the hobbyists in redding have all the stuff I got!

I hope your distributor doesn't get dendros in.........I want them to stay rare and so that you will ask me for a frag :D :D :D

Twisted

Well the distributor failed to get his australia stuff so you are still on the rare side with your dendros, but from what I have heard about thier growth, you won't be for long.
I think you need to trade me a frag of your dendros for a frag of my duncans though.

WOOHOO! I'm still the only one around here that has dendros!:D :D :D

Actually, I will tell you this, the growth rate on dendros is SLOW and I have first hand experience. I feed everyday and they get mysis soaked with selcon and yes they have gotten a little bit bigger like the babies were around the size of a dime, now they are the size of a nickel. This is 1 whole month of feeding daily. Most people only feed them like 2-3 times a week. I have yet to see anymore babies pop out which is making me mad!:mad2: :mad2:

Anyone in Redding need a cesp? Surprised noone in redding wants a cesp...........your loss guys. Have fun with your pom pom xenias while I enjoy my blue cesp   :D :D j/k hahah.

Twisted, I need to come up with a time and date to go up to redding and see your stuff! Monday and tuesdays are the best days. Maybe you guys need to have a club meeting on those days.

The store is currently closed on Mondays so I am around all day. On tuesday I am around in the evening.

On the blue xenia I would love a piece of that too, but it didn't look like you could frag it.

Twisted, reply to the thread about the frag swap. Put some ideas in there.

I have two frags of the cesp already. They are small frags but growing everyday! There is a lady in Chico that is getting the first frag I made and the second frag is available.

My tubs blues looks like its spreading really well so I should have frags soon. I just bought a orange w/white polyp gorgonia which has polyps large enough to eat cyclopeez which I can frag because ones with larger polyps have a better chance of survival. The blueberry gorgonias I got probably won't make it. I blame the seller because the seller gave me two that were in bad condition! If they were in great condition coming in, I might have a better chance at keeping them even though blueberry gorgonias are the hardest to keep. Trial and error though. I might try and get other gorgonias and then next time try my luck at another blueberry.

Do you guys sell gorgonias in redding?

Twisted

Well, I would be interested in the blue xenia and the tubs blue zoos.

I really won't be adding in anything as far as a frag swap, because most are club members only, and while I am friends with most of the club members here, I am not a club member.

Gorgonians, I have a red with white polyps in the store, but not completely sure on the care for them. I also have a sea fan that is purple on purple, and I have a sea fan in my tank that is red with purple polyps.

Hey, the red with white polyps gorg in your store tank might be a diogorgia speices. If it is, its not too hard to care for. How much is it? Hope its not too expensive.

How is the sea fan in your tank? Do you see new growth? If it is doing well, I might want a frag of it.

The frag swap isn't just for members of a club. Its for any reefers! Chime in on there. If there is a swap, you wil come and bring stuff right?

The sea fan in my tank has been in there for a couple of months now, opens and closes throughout the day. I haven't noticed much growth but you know how it is looking at your tank every day you don't notice something unless you are measuring it.
I have a photo from when I put it in, I will have to compare it to now and see.

I chimed in on the frag swap idea, but if it's at the store I work at, then I will most likely end up working it, so not being in it. I might put a couple pieces in it though.

But if there is something in my tank you want, you are better off bringing up a couple heads of dendro, and a chunk of that blue xenia and seeing what I will trade.....
