if you go with the mini G make sure you do the mods. same skimmer, same pump.

how do i do thoes? is there a skimmer that i can buy that wouldn't need the mods? i just dont see buying a skimmer and then having to mod it to make it work.

You don't have to mod it. I have 2 G2's that I have modded that work awsome. some day come by check them out ! I have both of my skimmers set up and running. so you can see what they are like. the mini's are the same things only smaller.

i would say get the tunze 9010 if you have the cash. extremely quiet and power efficient and everyone in the filtration area on the reef central forums that have bought one seems to love them. they are also very small and won't take up much room in the sump. People are also raving about the ATI bubblemaster skimmers that reefgeek sells as well.

if you really want to know what type of skimmer to buy, we need to know how much sump room you have and the amount of bio-load you plan to have. just asking if this skimmer or that skimmer is good isnt going to cut it because all skimmers are good in there own way, its if it meets the requirements of your tanks demands you should be asking.

yeah, Jesse really hit it on the head. there are alot of skimmers that could handle a 30g, but how big is your sump going to be and what is the budget?

The Tunze Nano DOC 9002 is meant for small tanks but needs a constant water volume. Meaning ATO. I have one for my prop tank but since I have no fish yet it's not pulling out much. It's gotten rave reviews. Again as Jesse said we'll need a better picture of your stocking plans, room and budget to narrow the list down.
