Live sand

I need enough live sand for a 30 gallon sump im building anyone know the best place to get some in tampa without shelling out 50 bux? I want the sandbed to be 4" thnks tampa

Sorry, but I don't think it's gonna happen...You're probably lookat at like 50lbs of sand right? Don't know the footprint of the tank, but I used a 50lb bag in my 20. No way you're gonna get that all live sand for under $50...

...but it doesn't need to be all live...get a good grain size dry sand and seed it with a few pounds of live.

Also, keep in mind that most of the local live sand is from the gulf and is NOT small DSB sized grains. You're best bet is to just get a starter kit from one of the online places or find a couple of locals that can donate a cup from their tank.
