here is the chalice I was told it is Echinophyllia Aspera by a friend. It is not showing it's true colors because it is not under the correct wattage right now.

Sorry the picture is too blurry. I would not even say with certainty the genus let alone species. Your friend could be right. The common name for several genus that look very similar is "Chalice". You might have an echinophyllia, an echinormorpha, an oxypora or even a mycedium. Each had species under them. All are commonly called Chalice in the trade.

Get us a better pic and maybe we can agree with your friend.
