Hey guys i just recieved this lovely female tonight for my male.
He was soo happy when i intoduced her. He became VERY pale like a bannana with spots and he curled tails right away with her.
But i dont think she likes him :( She has been ignoring him for the rest of the evening and doesnt hitch tails anymore with him.
As long as they are both male female will they resolve problems and try to mate?

Anyways i am leaning towards erectus, and my second is barbouri. What are your thoughts?

Here are the two when i introduced her. The smaller one is my male i think he is pregnant. Also he looks like a bannana in the pictures! He has never turned any colors other than jet black and drab black.

Definately not Barbs, not spikey enough. Don't think erectus either. My bet is on Kuda. Not an expert ID, just a thought.....

hi kovu,
that's a very nice horse you've got. both of them are really beautiful. anyway, i'm not sure about your horse, but i'll give it a shot. i don't think it's a barb based on the fact that it's got no spines. also, the striping around its snout is very limited.. also her crown is not very dominating. i'm gonna say she's an erectus. if i'm not mistaken, i can see lines in the second photo. also, she has no spines. the only thing that would make me think she's not an erectus is that her chest does not stick out much. one of my erectus females has the same characteristic, though, so it's probably not a determining one... so, i think your pretty little seahorse is an erectus. what's the male?

ps- courtship may take awhile.. i've had my four horses for about six months now and they haven't even shown interest in "doing the deed" yet..

mystari,
i was thinking kuda too, but her crown is not as flattened as a kuda's would be. as a matter of fact, her crown is pretty big. it's the same simple shape as an erectus's would be, so..

I would probably guess reidi. They are known for their nice yellow coloring. Kudas and reidi look very similar, but kudas are not as brightly colored.

I have two reidi, thats the only reason i was guessing!

i don't think its reidi... it's got some perly white dots that are uncharacteristic of reidis. also the head structure varies greatly from that of reidi.
