Does anybody know what the difference is between southdown an playsand?Where can i get southdown.

southdown is an aragonite sand mined off the shores of the bahamas (sold by caribsea @ LFS),most playsand is silica based,
& has been implicated in diatom blooms,& has no buffering
capacity.

HAHAHA, on the southdown bag the label says it's southdown play sand. So, it is indeed playsand. I think you're referring to the silica based playsand and I wouldn't recomend using that due to it not having any buffering capability. Try and find southdown play sand at your local Home Depot or talk them into ordering you some.
