well dave as you might know we have a resident water jet at our disposal sooooo...if i can get a sheet at half the cost of them cutting it to my spec, i am sure that would be way more cost effective and you will even profit from getting the exces glass...but if it comes down to them being just a bit more expensive for cuting it to my spec then i am all for it...lol... less work for fred...ill give them a shout tomorrow...

Try Kolcun's glass on the George F. Highway. They cut glass about any way you want it. I had a broken glass shelf and I had one to match it so I took that down there and they made one exactly like it...I think they can do just about anything and its pretty cheap.

I think the shelf was about 8" x 24" but it was rounded at the corners and was very nicely smoothed out on the edges. I think it costs about $12 for that piece, I am sure your stuff would be cheaper...oh it was 1/4" stuff too.

Binghamton Plate glass charges about $5 or $6 bucks a baffle if I remember correctly. That is for ¼” thick glass with the edges nice and smooth. I have called there in the morning and have been able to pick up my order that same day. If you call around they will tell you the price right over the phone if you give them the dimensions you need. If you want to compare prices another good place in town is Lee's Glass & Mirrors in Endicott. I have gone to Lee’s to have a hole drilled when I was in a hurry to get something done. If I could wait I usually ask a club member to drill my tank in exchange for a frag or something. There are a few people in STRS with the stuff to do it…

Nate

BTW Don’t bother trying to cut the glass yourself unless you know what your are doing and good at it. I find it is a royal pain and it is hard to get the smooth edges and accuracy the professional places get. It is worth the few extra bucks to get it done right IMO.

well we have a watterjet machine that cuts glass at work, but if it is only a few more dollars to get them to cut it i wont bother fred to make me a program to get it cut..lol..but yea ill try the diffrent places and compare prices... thanks nate
