I got this from a LFS today and it was sold to me as a Mushroom but after seeing some pictures I have no idea what it is now.

It looks really good but the pictures were taken a few hours after being in my tank and sitting in the transport bags for a few hours.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, it is called Ricordea Florida. Look it up there is a plethora of color varieties. Look it up and you will see for your self!

To follow up to your question if it is a mushroom, NO.

Ricordeas are also called "wrong Florida corals”. They are a type of “anemone", therefore not "real" coral. They come from the family of the Corallimorpharian, that occur in different colors of orange and green to neon-green and shining blue.

Ricordeas are not poisonous or toxic for your aquarium and don't represent any danger for your fish in addition. However, caution is necessary concerning the handling of Ricordeas. If you press on the polyp too strongly, it could reject secretions. In case that you get those into your eye, immediate medical advice is more than appropriate!

Nice Ricordia Yuma you got there! It is a mushroom and a close cousin to anemones. There's a cool ID article I posted in the id forum you can check out for the differences\similarities

very pretty- should do well in good water and PC or better lighting (if you have REAL strong lighting keep it a little low) and low\med flow and it should do really well for you

So it is an expensive shroom?

There are about 8 yumas on the rock most are about 2-3" wide but there is one that is probably close to 4-5"! Also what can't it be next to?

I have zoas, polyps, pagoda coral and sps in the tank and I read that it can't be near SPS.
