Where on island can I get a sump made, best price, and best quality? I'd like it to be a common sump / refugium between multiple tanks, as well. sort of like a central filtration system. so, definitely gonna have some size on it.

Blue Lagoon, will build High quality and at a very reasonable price. Look at "my huge 42 gallon" thread, you'll see pics of mine there.

I went down there to adk for a 16 gallon regular tanks with measurements of 12'wX17"lX18"h and they quoted me 10000 yen. I went to makeman and has the pieces cut for me for a grand total of 9900 yen (one sheet is 9800 yen) and I still have a half sheet of 5mm left over for something else. BTW, the leak test is going on right now and no leaks so far. The pins methos is difficult but my little easy water change box turned out nice and will serve the purpose.

Glass is another option and I have no problem helping you put it together. Working with glass is pretty easy even if you need it drilled.

in hind site there are some things that you can do very easly that would have helped out a lot..

buy a couple plastic squares and cut the corners off. get a few clamps to help hold stuff together while it dries. the glue we used dried very fast so we did alright just holding it by hand, but if your doing this by yourself clamps will make the differance.

Mesure at least 3 times. one thing that melve suggested that we didnt do was do two passes on our cuts.. might have helped make smoother edges.

and probably the number one thing I can tell you is come up with a design that will fit in your stand.. mine was so close, but I still had to shave about a 1/6 of an inch of wood out of my stand to get the damn thing to fit in there. use a piece of cardboard to get an idea of how big you can make the sump then go about half an inch to an inch smaller..

Material here is pretty expensive, (though teto has a secret place which has pretty kick "butt" deals) and glue isnt the easiest to come by. If the fish lady (Marine Lagoon) only wants 10000y to make a sump, id jump on that!!!
