I have these polyps growing on a piece of LR. I assume they are zoanthids.
1. Is this correct?
2. How do I promote reproduction (I have noticed them eating bloodworms and brine shrimp)?
3. What species are they?
Thanks for any help.

Look like Palythoa to me... Very closely related to zoanthids though... They spread like weeds with adequate lighting and good flow... Feeding them will only increase their rate of growth... I wish mine would slow down... lol
Looks like a palythoa. IMO
You can feed them mysis shrimp brine ect. although it is not necesary. Photsynthsis is all they need to survive. Wheather feeding them helps them reproduce, I think so but I'm sure other people disagree. Nice hitchhikers BTW.

Thanks guys. Palythoas, the ones with toxins strong enough to kill a mule!! I don't see them spreading yet beyond the two original polyps but here's hoping--or fearing!!
Not all zoos/palys have the toxin. Better safe than sorry.
