I'm setting up a 29 gal.,and used the Argonite treated with bacteria which is supposed to help with the LR(they say).Also added some Crushed Coral with it,unwashed. On this forum someone said don't wash the CC as it will help with raising the PH,etc. I put on a Whisper 40 filter I had and the tank cleared in about 18 hrs,but looking from the end of the tank into the light there seems to be a slight haze,but looking directly at the tank from the front it looks clear. With the lights on the water looks very clear but does seem to have that slight haze. Is this natural for a new setup with this substrate. I haven't gotten the LR yet so the tank is bare except for the substrate. I used a regular filter pad for the Whisper with a piece of Polyfilter also to add filter density. There isn't any particulate matter in the water,that has been removed by the filter .
