Does anyone know what the actual water volume is on these tanks? Are they like the other all-ine-one tanks that hold less water than they are listed for?

I don't think Cadlight selling 35G. However, they just came out with a new 25G gallon tank (23.5 x 18" x 14") which I bought few weeks ago with a full size refugium in the back so I would say that it's probably more than 25G in all.

Did you purchased one as well?

well i think that is the one he is talking about because cadlights classifies it as a 35 gal

Are you planning to get one or you already bought one? It's a beautiful tank and I think it's the best one out there right now in the market for nano.

Cadlight just released another new one that is 24x18x18 few days ago. It is really hard to keep up in Nano world.

This 34 gallon aquarium package combines the Beauty of our Seamless bow front aquariums with the power of the 150w HQI. Comes with a full size built-in refugium on the back of the tank and a 400gph pump. We added a new feature on this tank where the water returns from the front bottom of the display area directly hitting the corals where the circulation is needed the most. This gives you better top skimming as the waste naturally goes upwards. Great set-up for SPS frags and all types of corals that are very demanding in light and water quality. Tank Dimensions are 23.5 x 18.25" x 18.5"

The link jc9394 posted is the model I am talking about. Thanks.
Here's my situation. I am trying to decide what to buy. I am new to reefing and have been doing as much research as possible. I want to learn as much as I can before I jump in, no big rush.

I decided that I want to start with a nano even though bigger is better. Do to space limitations I am looking for about 25-35 gal. I want to keep some zoos, rics, softies, lps. Eventually I'd like to move toward more difficult coral but there is no hurry for that. Also, a few fish but I'm not sure what i want yet. The all-in-one tanks look like a good buy for a starter. There are so many to choose from. I was leaning toward the 29biocube, seems like a nice setup for the money. (can get for $280) I came across the 25 and 34 cadlights and really like the hqi lighting and built in fuge. I know the cad is double the price. Here are the questions I have.

1. I read that some of the all in ones hold less water than they are advertised for. The 29 BC holds about 22-25 I've heard. Are the cad 25 and 34 an actual 25 and 34 gallon aquarium?

2. Does the extra 5-10 gallons of water really make that big of a difference whan dealing in the 25-35 gal. range?

3. Is it worth it to spend extra money for the extra few gals.?

4. Is the 29 BC lighting (72 watt PC) sufficient for what I want. Or would I be better off spending the extra money for the hqi on the cad?

5. Is the stock cad lighting overkill for my intentions? Is it a waste at this point?

6. Is the cad sufficient for light demanding coral for further down the road?

I am trying to decide between the 29BC, the cad 25 and cad 34. I know they vary a lot in price. I want to know if the pros/cons of the cad justify the high sticker price. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Any insight, input, critisism, comments, or recommendations on anything I have said would be helpful. Thank you

Did you look at these? I was looking at these plus the 35g Cadlight.

Nanocube 28g HQI

Redsea Max

I was leaning toward Cadlight and Redsea until I decided to have someone build me a 40gal one. Both Cadlight and Redsea have great review at nano-reef.com but they are also very limited on space.

Here are the review of Cadlight 25g

I forgot to mention there is one more tank that I was looking at and really like it, is the Finnex 30g. I don't they are being make anymore.

I posted my review of the Cadlights 25g on a different thread a few days ago:
http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1068570

There are several things that Cadlights could do to make this a killer tank, but don't seem too interested in doing. I had to add a JBJ surface skimmer over the bulkhead drain to get some decent flow, put a couple 80mm fans in the hood to cool it down, figure out how to assemble the stand on my own as they say that they only have instructions written in Japanese, and they need to redesign the fuge area, work on getting their tanks shipped out faster, etc, etc.

Between the 25 and the 35 is in height, about 4 to 41/2 inches taller

Hi

I am having the same problem as to try and decide a nano tank. The bigger the tank the better but you don't want it to be bigger in height. I want it to have a bigger footprint and only 18" high. This way you can do without metal halide for most part. If you get metal halide, there will also be extra cost for chiller, higher electric bill. I like the red sea max 34 g but it is too high. I wish it had a bigger footprint instead of the 24 " height.
