It costs about $16.99 at the Petsmart store. So this way you would get 1 bag almost free without having to leave the house.

I think bigalsonline.com selling instant ocean 200gal bucket for 33.99 with free mixing pump. If you live close by them(buffalo,ny) you will save the shipping.

Scott's Pet Shop in Westchester(?), in the mini-mall at 31st and Wolf Road. 50g bags of Instant Ocean are $15. They're on the floor at the end of the aisle w/ the brackish & goldfish tanks and tank decorations.

Just verified shipping costs before they sent out the order: www.bigalsonline.com 200 gal bucket of Instant Ocean $33.95 + $14.54 shipping= $48.49 door-to-door to the noth-east border of NJ.

50 gal bags of reef crystals in this area are upwards of $30, and I've seen 200 gal IO for as much as $90.00+

o, at a local rate of $11.99 for 50, multiplied by 4 for 200 gal of mix gives you $47.96 + GA sales tax of $2.88 gives a price of $49.84, or $1.35 more than I'm paying, and I didn't leave my couch AND I got a free pump.

Cool. I feel OK about that!

You know, I'm not sure how they ship: I'll assume, due to weight, etc. that they just slap a label on the outside of the bucket & ship it that way. If that's the case, then I'm not sure that there would much of a difference in additional item shipping. I'll let you know when it arrives.

HOWEVER: splitting a livestock shipment might be a heck of a lot more FUN! Where are you in the tri-state are there? I'm in Chestnut Ridge, NY & work in Park Ridge, NJ.

Yep: salt arrived yesterday: just a packing list and shipping label stuck tot he outside of the bucket. So, I'll assume that there is definitely no combined shipping with smaller items.

On the other hand, I wonder if you could order a pallet or half pallet of buckets for a cheaper shippnig price.

I got mine three mo. ago and shipping exact like yours. you must use lot of salt(r u making saltwater pool..lol). 200gal bucket will last me years(I only hvae 40gal tank). I am not sure you will getting cheaper a pellet of buckets but definitely ask for discounted price from bigals.
