i have a 2gal that i change the water every week and i seem to be loseing polyps, im woundering could is be the oyster that hitched a ride on some mushrooms?

no. oysters are filter feeders and require large amounts of food. there could be somethign eslse eating your polyps.

Do you happen to have a Peppermint Shrimp in there, too? I tried adding yellow polyps to my tank twice and had them eaten by Peppermints both times.

well i did have a carmal shrimp but i got rid of him after i heard he ate corals, Hmm he could have babys ive seen some little things shrimp like things in there

If you see nothing eating them you may want to consider some food for them. They could be starving. Some phytoplankton would be good or some really mushed up frozen food would be nice too.

Books i've seen with yellow polyps recommend it.

well i do feed them 2times a week with kent phytoplex so i have no idea whats going on

i read that yellow polyps need some sort of larger size food. They really don't eat phyto. I'm giving mine crushed up formula 1 flake, and they're doing great. They also catch the frozen brine and bloodworms i put in there for the hawk (that stopped eating and is most likely going to die :sad1: )
