My 12gal DX Nano cube has finally finished cycling and I was wondering with the lighting I have 2x24 could I keep some SPS corals without having to buy a halide?

2x24 what?
pc, t5, vho

assuming its one of those, u might be able to keep some sps with the t5's but the pc's and vho's might have a tough time

good idea that is not enough light for sps you might try a monti cap up high

Allin, I've had these three frags of montipora in the tank for about 2 months and they are doing great. They are at the highest point in the tank and seem to be happy. They have quickly become my favorite corals!

The tank is completely stock and under pc lighting. I think they would do well in your tank if you have a place to put them in the upper portions of the tank.

I also have a question about skimmers, I don't have a lot of money to spend on this tank right now, do you think the Current Fission skimmers work ok?

Ex-reefer - nice tank, I thought I might give it a try and see what happens. How long has your tank been goin? Theres pictures on my site from my tanks. click the red house

The fission is a piece of junk (or so I've heard from everyone who has ever tried one).

With weekly water changes you won't need a skimmer but if you feel like getting one get the Saphire skimmer from www.nanotuners.com

Allin, My tank has been set up since October of 2006. I haven't had too many problems with the setup aside from maybe needing just a little more flow than the biocube offers. I had a bout with some cyano but after that cleared all has been well...so far! Good luck with your tank.
