Best Gobie/Shrimp pair

I'm looking to put a pair of these in my nano and was looking for input.

I have a yellow watchman/tiger pistol pair. They are amazing! The watchman actually changed colors from bright yellow to a light yellow with black stripes so that it matches the tiger pistol. Its pretty sick.

probably due to timing, but I have been sh** out of luck with that combination. had the tiger pistol about month before I added the yellow watchman to a 16g. for whatever reason, the goby knows that shrimp is there, I watch him sit 2 inches away, but he won't pair with the shrimp. so i say---make sure to buy them together!

I'll try to take one tomorrow! I guess I got lucky I got the goby first then when I got the shrimp I put him in the goby's borrow and they immediately paired up.

pair in what way? They just hang out together? I am a little confused by this. The reason I am interested is I am considering adding a goby to my 12g ap

they form a symbiotic relationship in the same way a clownfish and anenome do!

Yup ,the will share the same hole and both will help dig it and keep it clean! I believe the goby will defend the shrimp too!

Are you sure its due to the tiger shrimp? Cuz mine did that a few weeks after I bought him, i think it sucks, cuz i liked him bright. (i dont have a pistol, but was lookin at tigers)

I have a Yellow Watchman and a Japanese pistol -- I had the shrimp before the goby and as soon as he was introduced he went straight for the shrimps burrow and they have been a happy couple ever since.

i have a orange spotted prawn goby but i dont have a pistol yet but the fish alone is so cool i cant waitt o see the pair!
