Amateurs... it's quite obviously a poopicus maximus turbo worm... you know, native to the red sea???? sheesh do some research.

Sheesh have you ever heard of a bigginer before? The guy had a question..you dont have to be rude. Maybe try to help them instead of critizing them. I am sure you were a bigginer at one point and asked these type of questions.

It is a tube worm, Rosseau. :)

rosseau, keep asking questions if you have them. though certain people may be impatient, it's really unclear why the heck they don't take the obvious option of moving on to a new post rather than taking the time to make an unneeded hostile and sarcastic comment.

Thanks guys.

"doing research" includes asking questions. Also, part of the value of forums like these are that other people read and learn by observing other people's questions. nsreefer I hope you're joking..

I'm not sure if nsreefer is joking or not. Considering just hours before I tried helping him out with his idea to use halogen lights in a pico....

"Every day that goes by I become more convinced that a mandatory selective breeding program should be introduced for humans."

-Would he be selected?

Dont think there was anything hostile in the remark just being funny, You could put out some bait and watch with a flashlight with red lens at night to see if you see anything.

the rock is a few months old.. and had been curing for a long time at the store.

it sort of dropped out of the rock and sat in a coil for a long time... it has since left

I know I have a few smaller worms, but i've never seen one like that... i think in the end it was about 3" long

would a worm like that be most active at night?

I am guessing it might be a peanut worm!Definitely check it out with a penlight at night . It is amazing what you will see!

sorry, i was absolutely joking... i thought the poopicus maximus would give it away..... that's what sucks about the internet... you can't hear someone's tone of voice, or tell when they're laughing... and no, i would not be selected for the human breeding program i'm far too much of a jerk :D

It's all good!

My generation loves the instant messaging a lot, msn etc.. and that has caused more than enough confusion in my experience.

A girl I was seeing once thought I was breaking up with her because of the grey interpretive area of it all...... Little did she know I was waiting until Monday to do it... :)

Well the "worm" is still on the sandbed. It's poop, as I had first suspected.

The animal that made it I saw last night and that is definately a type of worm. Very dark in color, black mostly and much bigger/thicker than the rest of the worms in my rock. As is expected seeing as it managed to make a pile that big.

Anyone know a good worm ID page with pics?

I still stand by my first guess, a peanut worm! Try an image search on that!

He was laying out a joke and it was not meant to be mean spirited at all. It was actually pretty dang funny
