So i'm just sitting around reading, when I see something on my carpet..

One of my blue legged hermits got out (the same one did it yesterday). I plopped him back in the tank, but he wasn't looking good... Within minutes I had 4 snails (I forget which type these are) all over his shell, borderline fighting for the hermit.

Simultaneously on the other side of my tank my beloved cleaner shrimp has murdered my peppermint shrimp in cold blood... He's holding him up and eating the pepp's insides! ah well, he wasn't much good at anything... just eating aiptasia. The cleaner will sleep well tonight....

Anyone else have such an angry cleaner?

Also, if you think your cleaner is tough, i'm willing to arrange a battle. It will be heavily regulated of course.

make sure your inverts are getting enough food, my shrimp do out-of-character stuff when they haven't been feed.

Yeah i think that might have a lot to do with it.... I'm trying not to overfeed, and thus my clown tends to snatch most of it up...

i have free dried shrimp for my freshwater that I let the cleaner munch on from time to time

My bullseye pistol shrimp would love to take on your cleaner, I'm sure he is done eating the remains of my cleaner by now.

Those snails are called whelks and they eat dead stuff and clams.

Thanks 6Speed... i'm not sure where they came from.... They're fun to watch though actually... they burrow into the sand bed and leave their tentacles/eyes out of the sand
