I've got a whopping 3 gallon Eclipse for my Mantis shrimp.
Wouldn't mind putting on a skimmer, to help with water quality, etc.
A hang-on is out of the question, as is a sump based one. Are there skimmers that stand alone and can be 'fed' via hosing?

I really think it will be more trouble than it's worth and pretty impossible to do cleanly.
There are no stand alone skimmers. They would need a sump. It you did mangae to hook it up someway w/o a sump you would have major bubble issues in the tank. All HO models would require either major hacking on the eclipse hood or removing it totally.
I think both would be a major eyesore. You could always add another small bag of carbon in the tray....

There are a few people that have managed to create small DIY skimmers that fit in 2.5 gallon tanks. You may have to search to boards or search nano-reef.com for details though.
