I hope RC allows me to post this thread here and wish to thank RC if it does. The NIMAS (Northern Indiana and Michigan Aquarium Society) website (http://nimas.us) is not available because the domain expired. I had been a member there for about six months and was relatively active networking with others about reef aquaria.
I know there are some NIMAS members that are members of this forum as well. I just want to let them know I setup a google group that is open to NIMAS members as well as others wanting to join up. It's free. I would contact them myself, but I only have the email address/phone numbers of 5 other NIMAS members (out of at least 200 that signed up). I've contacted those 5 and they should be joining up if they haven't already.
Basically, NIMAS was/is an online forum - though with a lot less traffic than MR. It was a place where people in northern Indiana and lower Michigan posted and networked. I'd hate to see that network of people disintegrate because someone didn't renew the domain - because as you know - it's great when you have fellow reefers that are local that you can contact. A lot of members were from the South Bend/Mishawaka area. Most of the members in NIMAS are also member of other forums like MR or RC.
I setup a Google group because it is free and should serve the the basic function of what NIMAS was doing - announcing meetings and indicating if there was some stuff to sell or wanting to buy locally.
