Detritivore Kit

All,
I looking to purchase a detritivore kit from either Inland Aquatics or IPSF. Either package is about $100 shipped.

What are your thoughts on the detritivore kits for a DSB?
My 55G tank has been up for about a year but it's DSB is only 2 months old.

Please advise.

i've bought from both places and will gladly recommend either.

if you can swing it, get a kit from each. you don't have to get them at the same time, either. buy one, seed your bed. in six months get a kit from the other place and add that. another very useful thing would be to get live sand from as many different sources (member tanks, lfs) as possible.

i've been toying with the idea of starting a club dsb. i'll provide the space, tub, sand, equipment (i may need help with the lighting). you guys provide me with a bunch of sand from each of your tanks. maybe we all pitch in to get a couple of det kits. i keep the stuff alive. after six months, we all take some home and re-seed out beds.

That is a great idea. I am going to add a 4" sand bed in a week or two. It would be nice to know that every 6 months or so we could replenish our sandbeds.
