GRMAS December Meeting Minutes
·Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held at the Community Room at the Family Fare on Wednesday January 3, 2007 from 7pm-9pm. The time has been changed to Wednesday due to the holiday. We will be watching IMAC DVD lectures at the next meeting.
·Treasurer report: Please check the member's only section of GRMAS.org for an update. Funds are generated from member dues and auctions after the general meetings.
·GRMAS.org: We held a conference call with Rob Macy and discussed the website updates. Discussed there were some changes to the website as the previous space was decommissioned, Rob was working with Larry to transfer the domain, suspected would be able to get back up in couple days. Rob has completed the member’s only portion and will be e-mailing members with the password to enter this portion in the near future. Rob will be updating event pictures also. Rob asked that we work on a logo for the website. Club members to redesign the logo and can bring options for submission at the next meeting. We will vote on new designs at the next meeting. Rob preferred digital images as these will be easier to incorporate into the website. By having a new logo we will be able to get horizontal banners on the website. We also discussed opening the design to Mireefer community to get help with this.
·Swap update: We have 22 confirmed sponsors. We have decided to have a door prize raffle every person with paid admission will get 1 ticket with their admission cost towards this raffle. We will also use this as a way to determine the number of people that have attended the event also. We will ask that attendants sign their name to their ticket prior to returning it to us, we will then call the name and ticket numbers throughout the raffle, we will also post the winning tickets on a board to reference if the name/ number was not heard during the swap. There will be separate raffle tickets sold for the Chinese raffle at the swap. All raffle prizes will only be awarded if the person is present to win. We plan to use the same services for food (pizza, pop, and chips/ cookies), Chad and Julie Kirby will coordinate this. The room is reserved for the Zeeland Community Center on March 3rd. The club voted to not have Randy Reed speak at this time. We are considering changing the time for the swap from 11-2 to 12-3, will discuss with confirmed sellers to see which they prefer, will discuss further at next meeting.
·Other club news: MMMC is having their swap on January 21 from 12-3:30. Admission is free to GRMAS members with member cards. The MMMC has invited us to their next meeting December 10th from 5-7 at Preuss, a behind the scenes tour. There will be a raffle at this meeting also. The Grand Valley Aquarium Club has invited us to their all hobby swap (fresh and saltwater) on January 13th, we have reserved a table for this swap.
·Non-profit status: We are awaiting sample by laws from the other clubs prior to proceeding with this.
